Al Maktoum International Airport has unveiled a comprehensive sustainability strategy targeting net-zero emissions by 2030. The ambitious plan includes transitioning to 100% renewable energy, implementing electric ground support equipment, and optimizing flight operations to reduce fuel consumption. The airport is investing in solar panel installations across terminals and cargo areas, estimated to generate 25 megawatts of clean energy. Additionally, DWC is partnering with airlines to develop sustainable aviation fuels and implementing cutting-edge waste management systems to achieve zero landfill status by 2028.
